What’s good with my SneakerHead fam? How’s that collection looking? What have you copped lately?
Me myself, I have been getting rid of things in the collection…… But, I’ve also made some nice pick ups from one of my all time favorite shoes: Air Force Ones. I have even completed and rocked my very own Air Force One custom. Which I think is pretty dope, but I digress from my topic SNEAKERCON!!!!!
Sneakercon is one of the biggest traveling sneaker events/trade shows there is. Everybody comes out for Sneakercon including: Reshovn8r, Jason Markk, Fully Laced and many more depending on your region. That’s right region! The show goes coast to coast with it. Sneakercon hits all the major cities bringing a venue for SneakerHeads, boutiques and accessory based stores to come set up shop and network.
SneakerCon LA was at the convention center this year; The venue was huge; even when sharing it with The BET Experience it was the biggest event I’ve done thus far. Sneakercon was held this previous weekend on both Saturday and Sunday (June 27th & 28th) . There was a major turn out of people. There was a nice crowd of all ages taking part in the SneakerHead festivities. It was great to see sooo many out interested in the culture and enjoying themselves. Plus there was added traffic because of The BET Experience.
I saw a variety of dope kicks on foot and at booths. Los Angeles brought all kinds of heat out to Sneakercon. There was OG heat like Carolina & Cherry Red 11 lows. Rare heat like Eminem 4s & OVO 10s. I also spotted NikeiD Kobe 8s, Air Force Highs and KD 6s. WTKD7s and 8s, WTKobe6s and 7s, WTDunks, MVP LeBrons and a lot more. For those who are unfamiliar with “NikeiD”. It is a process on Nike.com that allows you to customize your own colorways and materials on a Nike silhouette of your choosing. Of course the hype was out as well, I saw numerous people with Shattered Backboards and Yeezy Boost highs/lows. A couple of celebrities made appearances as well. Kevin Durant popped up and Wale came through and did an interview about his collaboration sneaker release with Villa and Asics: The Bottle Rocket Asics.
On the flip side, The BET Experience was pretty dope as well. There were multiple stages, events, two different basketball courts, a gaming area and giveaways. There was a plethora of things to do and be a part of all weekend long. I got the opportunity to play 2016 Street Fighter, received some giveaways and saw a few performances.
All in all the event was amazing. I met a lot of great people and I also got to see & be in The BET Experience. Another dope event and great experience that I can add to things I’ve done. Looking forward to my next event coming up in mid July….Be safe out there and as always cop heavy, keep em fresh and the soles icy. #Salute
