What’s good with my Sneakerhead family? How is everyone doing? I hope you are all out here copping heavy and keeping your footwear up to par. Did everyone survive All-Star Weekend and get the shoes you were plotting on? I hope so!
There’s been a long ongoing debate about what heat is and what is on your feet…….With that being said, I ask “What’s on your feet?” Are you in Jordans with the iconic jumpman? Nah, you’re in Nikes with the swoosh. But what type of Nikes? Air Max, Foamposites, Air Forces, The Big 3 (Kobe, LeBron, Durant), SBs or are you in Nike Cortez? Maybe you do Reebok, so you’re rocking Questions? Maybe Answers or Kamikazes, better yet you like to keep it fresh in classics. Maybe Adidas are more your speed, you in Lillards? Nah D-Rose, maybe you got a hold of some Boost and you’re on your Yeezy hype. Nope, you’re old school so you’re rocking the classic shell-toes. Maybe you like to be different so you’re in Asics, possibly rocking Sagas or Gel Lytes. Oh I see, you’re about that New Balance life. What are those 990? 540? or 1500? I knew it! You’re all about Sauconys….out here in your Shadow 6000s or maybe your Grid 9000s.
There are soooo many brands/kicks that you can acquire and put on your feet these days. The selection and possibilities are endless. I said all of that to say this “IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT’S ON YOUR FEET!” We all have different taste and styles that are specific to us. You might not like what I like and I might not like what you like. That’s just the facts. Does that mean that what’s on your feet isn’t heat or what’s on my feet isn’t hype? Not necessarily. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The same can be said for heat in the world of Sneakerheads. Don’t get me wrong there are a few pair of kicks that are acknowledged by all Sneakerheads as heat regardless of your preference. Then there are those kicks in our personal collection that we and others who share our preference consider heat. Maybe they don’t share your preference but they know a dope pair of kicks when they see them regardless of the brand.
I personally prefer to go against the grain and get what I like as oppose to what everyone and their mother, father, uncle and cousin are wearing. I don’t discriminate against any brand….for the most part lol. But I won’t put those brands on blast, right now. All I’m saying is that there is no problem with being different and rocking what you like. It’s all about what you like and how you feel when you slide your foot in those kicks. Not who is going to see you or who is wearing the same shoe or the same brand. Be a leader not a follower, do what you like and rock what you like. Regardless of what is on your feet, rock them thangs like there is no tomorrow….I mean, isn’t that what you bought them for?
Feel free to comment and share your thoughts….and as always cop heavy, keep em fresh and the soles icy. #Salute
